Upon docking on the mainland there is a short break in order to stretch your legs and use the facilities.   From here you will depart by air conditioned van for the approximately 1 hour ride to the Jaguar Paw Resort where the cave tubing and zip line tour takes place.

On arrival at Jaguar Paw, guests hike for 10 minutes in order to get to where the zip line canopy tour starts. The zip line adventure consists of 8 zip line platforms each strategically located within the rainforest canopy. Double cables (each capable of withstanding 2,000 pounds of weight, are used for the ultimate safety. All landing platforms are equipped with safety gear, handrails and guides meet you at each landing and ensure your personal safety throughout the tour. The platforms range from 85ft into the canopy and as far apart as 250ft!

After enjoying the views from above the canopy, guests head to the restaurant to have lunch that is provided.  After lunch is finished, you will pick up an inner tube and head light and Hike with guide for about 30 minutes to the river.  The river is similar to a lazy river, all you have to do is lay on the tube and let the river takes you on a relaxing journey through the jungle and caves.  Once inside the caves, you will see crystalline stalactites. The cave tubing portion of the tour is about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half.

Once you are finished and had time to change into your dry clothes, the journey back to Ambergris Caye and Victoria House begins.  Your arrival time back at the resort is approx. 5pm.

Upon docking on the mainland there is a short break in order to stretch your legs and use the facilities.  From here you will depart by air conditioned van for the approximately 45 minute ride to the New River where you will board another boat for the ride down the New River until you reach Lamanai. Along the way, be sure to keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as manatees, crocodiles and various birds.

Upon arriving at Lamani, you and your guide will explore some of the grounds and temples of this 3,000 year old civilization that was home to 35,000 inhabitants.  Lamanani is one of the most picturesque ruins in Belize and features 3 pyramids and various plazas.  For those a bit more adventurous, you can climb the largest temple and see amazing views of the jungle and New River as the largest temple is 108 feet high.   While exploring the area, you will hear the black howler monkeys that call this area home.  Lamanai was recently shown on both ABC’s The Bachelor and the A&E reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

The journey back to Ambergris Caye and Victoria House begins.  Your arrival time back at the resort is approx. 5pm.

Miss Olivia with her 50lb kingfish. Olivia is a well seasoned fisherwoman and multi repeat guest.

The kingfish itself was well seasoned later that evening by Victoria House chefs, much to the delight of her family.

Chef Hall is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the New England Culinary Institute and has worked under several James Beard Award winning Chefs such as Aqua in San Francisco and the Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado.

Since 2009 Chef Hall has been the Executive Chef at the highly acclaimed Elevation Restaurant in Aspen and is scheduled to become the Executive Chef at the Las Pergolas Restaurant at Pristine Bay on Roatan Island in March of 2012.
