Scuba Diving in Belize
Scuba diving in Belize is spectacular! Ambergris Caye is located just minutes away from the Belize Barrier Reef – the world’s second largest barrier reef– and boasts a variety of dive sites within a 20-minute boat ride from the pier at Victoria House. Atolls also offer a unique, colorful, and diverse full day of the best diving in Belize.
Most of the dive sites are two-to-three tank multilevel dives. We take weather conditions under consideration for each of the Belize dive sites listed. The Turneffe Atoll area is rich with a vast array of fish that gather between deep canyons and groove reef formations.
If it isn’t already, scuba diving in Belize should undoubtedly be on your bucket list of adventures.
Ambergris Caye Scuba Diving
Ambergris Caye is located just minutes away from the Belize Barrier Reef – the second largest barrier reef in the world – and boasts a variety of canyons within a 10-minute boat ride from the pier at Victoria House. The spur and grove style of coral reefs offers a great opportunity for both novice and seasoned divers to see a variety of marine life starting from shallow to intermediate depths.
Local Diving
Dives depart at 8:30 AM daily for single or two tanks. We may have a 1:30 PM departure depending on demand. The boat ride is between 5 to 20 minutes from the dive shop to the dive site. We also offer a shallow 1 tank dive with a snorkel stop Combo to Holchan and Shark Ray Alley.
Equipment is available for rental at the dive shop on site, divers need to have done a dive within the past 3 years at least, and proof of certification is required.
Marine Park Fees may apply depending on the dive site.
Offshore Dives to the Blue Hole & Turneffe Atoll
Dive the famous Blue Hole and other sites at Lighthouse Reef Atoll. Or you can dive the Elbow and other locations at Turneffe Atoll. Depart 5:30 AM and return to San Pedro between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM. This is a three-tank dive day tour and includes an open seaboat ride. Lunch and refreshments provided; equipment included. Gear fitting is done the day prior at the dive shop on-site at the resort. To dive the Blue Hole, divers need to have dived within the past 2 years at least.
A minimum number of divers is required. The US$ 40 Park Entry Fee is not included.
PRIVATE CHARTERS are available.
Dive Refresher Course
Review skills of certified divers with an instructor, includes one shallow dive at the reef. Proof of certification is required.
Times: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM or 1:00 PM- 4:30 PM
Open Water Dive Certification
Consists of classroom sessions, confined skill dives, and 4 open-water dives. Following completion, the diver receives a PADI Certification Card recognized worldwide. Includes all gear and books.
Minimum age 10 years old.
Open Water Dive Referral
For individuals that have completed academic and confined water dives within 12 months. It consists of four open water dives required for the PADI Open Water Certification. Divers must bring a Student Referral Form or logbook filled out by the previous Instructor. Includes all equipment.
Advanced Open Water Diving Certification
Provides a certified open water diver with a structured, well-supervised means to gain additional dive experience. An essential prerequisite to many specialty courses, consists of five open water dives done over two days. Your course includes an underwater navigation dive and a deep dive.
Discover Scuba Diving in Belize
Allows non–divers to dive under the supervision of an instructor. Includes a lecture in theory and a one-tank dive in shallow waters. Minimum age is 10 years
