Adventures In Ambergris Caye

Just fifteen minutes – that’s all it takes to journey from Belize City to the adventure capital: Ambergris Caye!

This 40-mile-long island has front row seats to some of the true wonders of the natural world, including the Mesoamerican Reef System and Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. There’s a reason world-class divers frequently visit San Pedro, and it’s not just because of the lobster!

In addition to an abundance of dive sites like The Elbow within Turneffe Atoll, Eagle Ray Canyon just outside Hol Chan Marine Reserve, and Lighthouse Atoll – made famous as the Blue Hole by renown explorer Jacques Cousteau decades ago – we also have so much more to offer. Some of the biggest festivities in Belize take places in San Pedro, like the International Costa Maya Festival every August.

Close proximity to the mainland means that if you’re up to it, day trips to the Belize Zoo or to explore the ancient ruins of Lamanai are quick and easy.

On Ambergris Caye you’ll feel a world away, even if it is only just a couple of short flights from home!
