Don’t be alarmed to hear the loud growling sound coming through the dense forest, as your guide will assure you it is simply their way of protecting their territory. It is interesting to learn that the Howler Monkeys are separated by troops and can be quite territorial about their turf as they hunt for food.

It is an amazing experience to be able to look up in treetops and view the Black Howler Monkeys swinging from one branch to the other, only a few feet away from you. Don’t be surprised when your guide manages to have the Howler monkey come down to greet you!
