Belize’s Costa Maya International Festival kicks off right here on Ambergris Caye July 20th with festivities continuing the following weekend from the 26th-28th!
While the festival now includes a beauty pageant in search of Miss Costa Maya International, parades, performances, and more, it began as a smaller, local celebration of Maya culture in 1992. It is now considered the nation’s cultural event of the year and the opening of the festival includes government officials and other individuals of importance.
